Our Sussex Chair is a reimagined 18th century classic. A commission to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the reopening of East London’s William Morris Gallery, the Sussex chair is one of the key archive objects from their collection to be revisted and produced by contemporary makers. Made of solid European oak, a natural black is achieved using a steel wool and vinegar solution which reacts with the wood’s tannin. The seat is contrasted by a hand-woven rush.
