Fancy yourself as a Designer Maker but not sure where to begin? Our introductory one week course will help provide the skills and insight you need to get started.
Provide us with a sketch of your idea, and ahead of the course we'll model it in 3D and produce a set of construction drawings. We'll then spend five days making it from scratch together. At the end you'll have your first prototype, professional photographs, and industry insight to begin your own journey.

Course days: Monday to Friday
Time: 9.30am to 4.30pm
The one week course is suitable for small pieces, namely a stool, side table etc.
We ask you send us your sketches 3 weeks prior to the commencement of the course, to allow time for modelling and revisions.
Insight into the logistics of being a designer will include pricing, marketing, packing, shipping and photography.
Wilkinson & Rivera retain none of the intellectual property regarding your piece. Ownership of all associated artworks and drawings will be transferred to you.

All necessary materials, equipment and PPE will be provided by Wilkinson & Rivera.
A base quantity of Tulipwood timber is provided for each project and included in the price. Should the participant require more material/a different timber type, an additional charge will apply. This must be made clear at least 14 days prior to course commencement.
Closed-toe footwear is required, and clothes which can get dirty.
Wilkinson & Rivera takes a diligent approach to health and safety for the sake of all staff and users. Students are agreeing to abide by the guidelines of our Health & Safety instructed by tutors. Repeated failure to do so will result in termination of the students participation rights on the course; without refund.
